Dr. Md. Fazlur Rahman: (103) It is very much painful and disgraceful that the number of doctors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), particularly those who were the active supporters and the blind followers of the then DAB (Doctor’s Association of Bangladesh) have also refrained to deliver the treatment to the injured persons. The above stated intentional abstention and wilful refrainment of the professional doctors is treated as very much inhuman and highly condemnable. By the side of this it is also a matter of regret that, the then officers in charge (OCs) of Ramna and Motijheel police stations have refused to receive any ejahar (FIR) from the leaders of Awami League. The above mentioned unexpected and unbelievable refusal of the number of police personnels are considered as very much unethical as well as a burning example of professional misconduct.
(104) Afterwards any of the investigating officers did not investigate the grenade attack cases duly or properly or fairly. Moreover, in the name of investigation the number of over interested and government patronised investigating officers have created Joj Miah drama fully out of ulterior motive and malafide intention. Later on the government machinery have misguided and misled the Interpol and FBI about the investigation by producing various types of false, fabricated and concocted stories. It is very much painful and surprising that Mr. Justice Joynal Abedin has also submitted a farcical and trickish inquiry report in regarding the extremely tragical occurrence of grenade attack. Henceforth it is crystal clear that the then government has very consciously and carefully created various types of barriers and obstacles to hold the proper and credible investigation about the above noted heart-rending and diabolic incident of grenade attack.
(105) It is also evident from the record that in spite of repeated requests, Begum Khaleda Zia did not give any chance or opportunity to the DGFI to conduct the investigation. Moreover she has again and again restrained the then DGFI chief Mr. Sadik Hasan Rumi to conduct the investigation in these two cases. It was highly expected that, being the head of the government and being in charge of the ministry of home affairs it was the bounden and obligatory duty of Begum Khaleda Zia to hold the proper, impartial and neutral investigation for the cause of tracing out the real culprits about the grisliest grenade attack. But the reality is that she did not do so. Over and above during the tenure of Khaleda Zia the entire government machinery all along tried their best to frustrate and to vitiate the totalinvestigationprocess with a view to hide out the real culprits. As a result, there is a very good reason to believe that the gruesome grenade attack has been commenced within the very knowledge of the then government headed by Begum Khaleda Zia.
(106) It is known to all that after the commencement of the devilish grenade attack, the prime target and one of the victims of that attack Sheikh Hasina while interviewing with the BBC has very boldly and strongly deliberated that,“… the then government was liable and responsible of that attack” [B.Ekushey August, 2004:Se din jaghotechilo (21st August, 2004: What has happened on that day), staff correspondent, Prothom Alo, 21-08-2018]. After that hellish and heart-rendingattack various types of unexpected occurrence and unwanted incidents have been taken place in the long last more than 14 years. In pursuance of the above mentioned all the unsolicitedefforts followed by extremely inhuman activities and unworthy performances of the then government,it has been undoubtedly and trustworthily proved that, among all other accused Begum Khaleda Zia and her desperate son Tarique Rahman were directly involved and engaged in that detestable and highly diabolic attack.
(107) It is very pertinent, relevant and important that, on 21-08-2020 Sheikh Hasina herself has conspicuously asserted and unequivocally expressed that, “… Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman were directly involved about the barbaric grenade attack on 21st August, 2004”[B.Khaleda, Tariqueekushey August -er hamlaysorasorijorito (Khaleda,Tarique were directly involved in the 21st August attack), special correspondent, The Daily Janakantha, 22-08-2020].In the light of the above noted lengthy and elaborate discussions, the aforesaid clear-cut and specific allegation of infernal grenade massacre raised by Sheikh Hasina, one of the victims of that terrible attack is adjudged as very much true, genuine and heart-breaking.
